Brad's post about my woodcarving Nov. 22, 2011
Christmas in the E.R. Dec. 29, 2011
So I thought I'd share some pics of these masterpieces! I took these pics using my new Kindle Fire which I only discovered was on there about two weeks ago.
This one I named "Bradley" because if you remember from our last Valentine's Day celebration, he wore a red bow tie when we went out to eat. And this post is what we wrote afterwards.I could have carved a bow tie but I wasn't thinking it would end up reminding me of Bradley at the time.
So I got a little strip of red ribbon you use to wrap presents and tied it around the neck. I then added the bells since, well, it's been snowing here so now he's an all-holiday Penguin! LOL.
And this is just a little penguin family along with their pet, um, dog... or something resembling a dog or a baby bear, or something. I obviously need some more practice getting animals to turn out right! LOL!Oh, and I managed to carve a red bow tie on one of these! Papa Bradley I guess! LOL!
I love these! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Adorable Matty! I love stuff like this.
ReplyDeleteAwww, cute! My DH collects penguins...
ReplyDeleteGood job Matty! They're adorable. I'm glad there was no hospital run in this post.
ReplyDeleteWow Matty! Amazing job... they look fantastic!!! *hugs to you both*
ReplyDeleteThese are so sweet, Matty. You have a fantastic learning curve. Just watch thoses hands and fingers! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great winter weekend. *Hugs to you and Bradley*
They look great! I think you did an amazing job. As you do more you will get better...practice makes perfect :)
ReplyDeleteThey are so sweet. Puts a smile on my face every time I see them, :)
ReplyDeleteThey are the cutest things I've seen in forever.
ReplyDeleteMatty! Those are so cute! :D How big are they?
ReplyDeleteThanks. The first one with the ribbon and bells is about 3 inches from head to base. In the second one the tallest is 4 and a half inches.
DeletePerhaps you might want to consider mail-order for Christmas 2013. If you start now ... :)
DeleteThey are the cutest penguin family with Papa Bradley :)
ReplyDeletePlease continue to share your lovely works with us. Maybe an addition to the family like Papa Matty ;)
Good idea! Matty can carve him a little Sox cap!
DeleteVery cute! Love it! I was starting to wonder if you had given up on the woodcarving after the "almost slicing off thumb" incident. Glad to see you stuck with it. And, I really love the penguins! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! When you open up your Etsy account, I'll be first in line to shop! And I want to commission a polar bear. :-D
ReplyDeleteVery nice and cute. Your "dog" reminds me of a seal.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing - that pet has the cutest seal face. Very sweet - and you could definitely sell them.
DeleteWell... maybe it is a seal! That would make sense for a penguin family! I used my neighbor's Penguin Family as a guide and it never dawned on me it might be a seal! Mystery solved!! ;)
DeleteI love them, they're too cute, Matty!

Ahh, Matt, these look sweet out in the snow. :o)
ReplyDeleteLove them! This made my day. I want these as ornaments for my tree! Sell them on etsy, Matt, pretty please??? :D
